White Dead Nettle

Scientific name:  Lamium album

Size:  Grows to a height of 60cm

Distribution:  Found throughout the UK

Flowering Months:  May to December

Habitat:  Roadsides, woodland edges, hedgerows and waste ground

Special features:  White Dead Nettles are sometimes called 'dumb nettles' or 'blind nettles'.  The leaves and stems of these plants closely resemble Stinging Nettles, but they do not have the irritating stinging hairs - hence the name.  It's easy to distinguish them from stinging nettles when they are flowering.
