Size: Up to 10cm tall. Caps grow to 4cm across
Distribution: Found throughout the U.K.
Months seen: All year round
Habitat: On tree stumps and dead wood in deciduous and coniferous woods
Special features: Sulphur tuft fungi often appears in large clusters on fallen branches of old tree stumps (deciduous or coniferous). The caps are sulphur yellow coloured at the edge and more orange towards the peak. The gills and stems are yellow too. The stems are often curved and scaly. The spores are purple-brown in colour
