Scientific name: Bellis perennis
Size: Can grow to 15cm
Distribution: Found throughout the U.K.
Flowering months: May to September
Habitat: Garden lawns and short grassland
Special features: Daisies grow as a rosette of oval shaped leaves and produce small white petalled flowers with yellow centre. The flowers open fully in bright sunlight, hence the name 'daisy' which is a corruption of 'days eye'.
