Size: Up to 7mm
Distribution: Found at a few sites in England (notably Kent and Sussex) and Wales.
Months seen: June to September
Habitat: Coastal sites, heathland and open grassland
Food: Small invertebrates which they catch in a web
Special features: Bordered Orb-weavers can be recognised by the distinctive markings on their abdomen. These spiders are frequently found on low growing vegetation, especially heather and gorse.
